Mega Bugs: the forest of giant insects
A unique thematic trail in Trentino
Walking along the Mega Bugs trail, you will come face to face with huge wooden toys depicting some of the most common insects in our forests.
This themed trail is designed to stimulate children's curiosity and give the whole family a new way of observing nature: discovering how bees live, the tireless work of ants, the valuable role of ladybirds.
A journey among giant insects
The trail runs for about 2.5 km between Dosson and Prati di Gaggia, and can be walked in both directions. Along the way, you will encounter eight large wooden installations depicting ladybirds, ants, dragonflies, caterpillars and other small woodland dwellers, a maxi sign and two marbles tracks.
Each structure is to be touched, crossed and explored: slides, walkways and small challenges turn the walk into a game.
Illustrated panels explain in a simple and curious way the characteristics of each insect, inviting young and old to observe and respect nature.
How to enjoy the experience
The route alternates between stretches of forest, clearings and play areas, and is suitable for the whole family. It can be easily walked even by small children (trekking buggy recommended) and offers numerous points where one can stop to play, take photos or simply breathe in the mountain air.
Among the most iconic installations is the maxi sign “Andalo”, all playable and perfect for a souvenir family photo.

The ball game
Along the trail you will also find two games with marbles, a fun challenge that accompanies the walk. Children can roll the marble on wooden tracks positioned along the path, trying to overcome bends, small bridges and small tests of skill.
To play you need a special marble, which is included in the Paganella Play Pass or can be purchased separately (remember to have the coins for the dispenser with you).
